At Oxford International School, our Pre-Primary years are built on the belief that childhood is not a race, but a journey of wonder. Every child is unique, curious, and capable. Our philosophy is deeply aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS) 2022, which places the child at the centre of learning and consider the pre primary years most crucial for brain development.
As per NCF, we focus on holistic development through Play, Discovery, and Conversation.
Our 5 Pillars of Learning (As per NCF-FS Panchakosha Vikas)
- Physical Development (Annamaya Kosha): Through free play, yoga, dance, fine motor activities like beading, tearing-pasting, and outdoor exploration.
- Socio-Emotional Development (Manomaya Kosha): Through circle time, storytelling, sharing, empathy-building, and celebration of festivals together.
- Cognitive Development (Vijnanamaya Kosha): Through sensory exploration, puzzles, sorting, patterning, and early numeracy and literacy in a stress-free way.
- Language & Literacy (Vak Vikas): Through rich conversations, rhymes, picture reading, story narrations, and vocabulary enrichment activities where children learn to use describing words, building vocabulary and expression.
- Aesthetic & Cultural Development (Anandamaya Kosha): Through art, music, role-play, and creative corners.
As recommended by NEP 2020, our day is filled with free play, guided play, toys, puzzles, and hands-on material.
- A child playing with blocks is learning math and physics.
- A child drawing is learning expression.
In essence, at Oxford International School, we are not preparing children for the next class, we are preparing them for life.We nurture children who are not just school-ready, but life-ready - confident, compassionate, curious, and joyful.
